Through our Victims of Crime Program, eligible children, adolescents, and adults can receive state funded psychological services to help them cope with a past victimization. In order to qualify for this service, a formal police report must exist in which victims (i.e. people who have been physically or psychologically injured) are identified. For minors, this usually involves past physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse (or being at high risk for future abuse). Treatment may also be available for a derivative victim, an individual who was not directly injured as a result of the crime, but is closely related to a victim or occupying the same household.
